What if your local LGBTIA/Queer community started its own library?
In the past few years, several volunteers at QueerIST have experienced how hard it is to find and access works written by and for queer people. We decided to take matters into our own hands and embraced the ambitious endeavor of starting our own community library. This is the sum of knowledge from what we, as volunteer amateur librarians, learned from this experience. We hope it can help other community libraries who would like to replicate our success and that it can also be insightful for professional librarians on queer people’s needs in their libraries.
